Contact: balexander@veryst.com
Brentan Alexander is currently an engineer at Veryst Engineering™
LLC, an engineering consulting firm located in the Boston area. Veryst
provides services in product design, manufacturing processes, and
failure analysis. Mr. Alexander holds both bachelor’s and master’s
degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute
of Technology (M.I.T.). His areas of focus include design, modeling,
and analysis of fluid mechanic and thermodynamic systems. Mr. Alexander
has experience developing optimization models for complex systems
that incorporate the coupling of multiple physical phenomena, including
compressible fluid flow, heat and mass transfer, and phase change.
He has worked with and is proficient in a number of design and analysis
software packages, including solid modeling and computational finite
element codes. He has experience in a range of fields, having studied
cycle flows for proposed advanced utility power systems as well as
the dynamics of phase change in micro-scale and MEMS devices.
Mr. Alexander has worked in the research and development
division of a medical device firm, helping to design and test a
new generation of therapeutic technologies. He has worked in the
electronics packaging department of an electrical engineering firm,
analyzing and developing heat removal strategies for a line of advanced
circuit cards. Mr. Alexander has also helped evaluate component
loads and stresses in studying fatigue and failure rates within
commercial jet engines.
