Technical Challenge

Surgeons were returning perforators because of surface imperfections. Veryst was retained to identify the source of the surface features.

Veryst Solution

Veryst performed metallurgical and chemical analyses of the returned perforators and determined that the stainless steel was contaminated by inclusions introduced during the original casting of the steel rod.

Veryst’s analysis enabled the client to recover the returned perforators cost from its stainless steel supplier.
