Dr. Rebecca Meacham is a Senior Engineer at Veryst Engineering. Her expertise is in applying molecular design principles to polymeric materials, measuring structure-property relationships, and materials characterization. She has extensive experience in polymer synthesis, using radical-initiated and air-sensitive methods, as well as polymer processing, including spin-coating and casting polymer films. Dr. Meacham’s materials characterization experience includes thermal properties (DSC, TGA, TMA), spectroscopy (FTIR, UV-Vis-NIR), mechanical methods (DMA, standard test methods, custom mechanical testing), and electrochemical analysis (spectroelectrochemical analysis, CV, EIS). She has applied these methods to determine properties of elastomers, thermoplastics and thermosets, semicrystalline polymers, hydrogels, and polymer thin films.
Prior to joining Veryst, Dr. Meacham earned her Ph.D. from MIT where she focused on designing, synthesizing, and evaluating semiconducting polymers for organic electrochemical transistor applications, combing multiple techniques to determine modifications for improved performance.
