Veryst Engineering is seeking a full-time consultant to assist in developing advanced testing methodologies for polymeric materials. Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in mechanical engineering, plastic engineering, materials science, experimental physics, or comparable field required with minimum of 2 years industry experience, or the equivalent, required. Good organizational skills essential. Strong academic record and references required. Hands-on experience with mechanical testing and material characterization (FTIR, DSC, TGA, etc.) necessary as well as the ability to perform finite element and numerical analyses. Familiarity with Abaqus, ANSYS, and MATLAB useful. Candidate will collaborate with other engineers on a range of projects that require strong understanding of engineering fundamentals. Candidate should have demonstrated ability to communicate technical content well, publish technical articles, analyze multi-faceted problems and be able to work well both self-directed and within a team.
- Familiarity with mechanical testing techniques (creep, relaxation, impact, DMA)
- Knowledge and comfort with numerical analysis methodologies, including finite element analysis and MATLAB.
