Gold Sponsor of COMSOL Conference 2018

October 3, 2018
Boston (Newton), Massachusetts

Veryst is proud to have been a Gold Sponsor of COMSOL Conference 2018 Boston. Veryst engineers were active at the conference. Some highlights: Dr. Jorgen Bergstrom and Dr. Nagi Elabbasi presented a workshop on “Modeling Mechanical Behavior of Rubbers and Thermoplastics in COMSOL Multiphysics.” In this workshop, they demonstrated how to predict accurately the thermomechanical response of different polymeric materials, including cases where they recommend material models from the PolyUMod® library.

Dr. Elabbasi also moderated a panel discussion on “Modeling Strategies for Acoustics Simulations.” The panel discussed the use of different modeling strategies depending on the frequency range, model size, and details included in the physics used.

Dr. Alireza Kermani spoke about “Simulation of Vibro-Thermography of a Titanium Plate.” Vibro-thermography (or ultrasound thermography) is a nondestructive test method for detecting cracks and delamination in solids using elastic ultrasonic wave excitation. Veryst developed a finite element model of vibro-thermography of cracked and epoxy-filled notched plates to investigate the heating mechanisms and the effect of defect size and loading conditions.

The conference took place October 3-5, 2018 at the Boston Marriott in Newton, MA. Click to learn more about the conference.
