Dr. Sean Teller offered a training course at NAFEMS World Congress 2023 on "Polymer Testing and Modeling for FE Simulation." This course was intended for finite element engineers who simulate polymers and are interested in advancing their modeling skills beyond hyperelastic material models and rate-independent plasticity. Dr. Teller reviewed polymer behavior, fundamental continuum mechanics for material modeling, selecting material parameters, and case studies on hyperelastic, viscoelastic, and viscoplastic material models. He also discussed material model validation and its importance in material testing and material model selection.
