Veryst Engineering is seeking a Materials Engineer to join our team of consultants and help solve challenging mechanical design, materials selection, manufacturing, and failure analysis problems for our clients. Candidates must have an M.S. or Ph.D. in materials or mechanical engineering, or similar, and have a strong fundamental understanding of the mechanical behavior of engineering materials. Industrial experience of 2+ years is a plus. Successful candidates will likely have experience in many of these areas:
- Mechanical testing (strength, toughness, fatigue, DMA, etc.)
- Materials characterization (SEM, FTIR, metallography, etc.)
- Materials development
- Fracture mechanics
- Failure analysis
- Finite element analysis (Abaqus, ANSYS, and/or COMSOL)
- Additive manufacturing
Candidates must be comfortable working on several projects of varying subject matter and scope at once. They must be able to deliver high-quality work efficiently and have superior written and verbal communications skills. This position also involves spending time on business development efforts to attract new clients. Strong academic record and references are required.
