Veryst and colleagues from Merck & Co Inc. recently published a paper on "Coring and Fragmentation of Elastomeric Needle Shield in a Pre-Filled Syringe" in the PDA Journal of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology. The team used a combined experimental- and simulation-based approach to develop models of needles inserted into rubber stoppers to predict elastomer fragments in the needles.
Veryst is pleased to add new offerings to our webinar series, focusing on our consultants' expertise in polymer mechanics, experimental testing, and multiphysics simulation. Registration is now open!

Join Dr. Nirmal Paudel as he explores the cutting-edge of wireless power transfer technology, enhancing efficiency and reliability across industries like electric vehicles and consumer electronics.
Dr. Mark Oliver and Dr. Sean Teller will be presenting and the NAFEMS World Congress, taking place May 19-22 in Salzburg, Austria. Dr. Oliver will be presenting on “Techniques for Inverse Calibration of Cohesive Zone Models”. Dr. Teller will be presenting on “Rate and Pressure-Dependent Failure Modeling of Thermoplastics“. Further information on these presentations can be found at https://www.nafems.org/congress/
Dr. Sean Teller is offering an online course on Testing and Modeling of Polymers for Solid Mechanics Simulations on four consecutive Tuesdays, starting January 21, 2025. The course will address the advanced and accurate modeling of thermoplastics, elastomers, TPEs, composites, and foams.
Dr. Nirmal Paudel delivered a keynote talk on “Electromagnetic Simulation of an Axial Flux Motor.” This presentation included working through an electric vehicle axial flux motor example in detail to illustrate how simulation, including static and transient simulations, can provide practical design and optimization insights.
Dr. Matthew Hancock and Dr. Joseph Barakat discussed "Computational Fluid Dynamics Investigation of Lyophilized Drug Product Reconstitution within Dual-Chamber Autoinjectors: Optimizing Device Performance through Simulation." Veryst also presented a poster and had a booth at the event.
ENGtechnica, an online publication in engineering and technology, published a review of Veryst's presentations at COMSOL Conference 2024 Boston in an article titled "When a COMSOL Analysis Gets Difficult, Call In the Cavalry."
Veryst has been granted a patent on our custom-designed drop tower for conducting high strain rate uniaxial tension and compression tests. This unique and versatile test system can be used to measure the high-rate stress-strain response of elastomers, thermoplastics, foams, engineering composites, thermosets, and biomaterials.
